Multi-Configurations For Dual-Band Capability

One VX-5500 Control Head and two RF Decks on different bands may be networked for dual-band operation. Low Band, VHF or UHF radios may be combined to meet complex communications requirements for multi-agency operations.

When Safety Counts

As with all Vertex Standard Mobile Analog radios, the VX-5500/6000 Series includes Emergency alert for enhanced driver safety. A panic button can be triggered by the front panel button to alert the dispatcher when problems arise.

In addition, the VX-5500/6000 Mobile Analog Radio Series features an internal emergency microphone on the front panel so the driver can continue to communicate with dispatch should the regular microphone become unusable.

Horn alert capability enables base station operator to issue a 2-Tone, 5-Tone or DTMF signal remotely to activate the car’s horn to go off as an additional emergency alert to draw attention to the vehicle.

Loud, Full Sounding Audio

Audio companding ensures full sound for narrow band channel applications.  Use the optional 12W rear external speaker for enhanced safety.

Exclusive Auto-Range Transpond System (ARTS™)

Always know your connection status. Only Vertex Standard radios are designed to inform you when you and another ARTS™-equipped radio are within communication range. If out of range, your radio senses no signal has been received and beeps to alert you. A great solution to keep your workers coordinated.

FCC Narrowbanding Compliant

Meets the FCC Part 90 requirement for using 12.5 kHz channels by January 1, 2013.

Program a radio from a computer. For use with a FIF-12 USB interface. Works with theVX-5500, VX-6000 series mobile radios.
Connect two radios together to clone the programming from one radio to the next to speed up servicing radios. Works with theVX-5500, VX-6000 series mobile radios.
The remote mount cable is used with the RMK-4000 to connect the RF deck to the control head. This cable is 20 feet long.
The remote mount cable is used with the RMK-4000 to connect the RF deck to the control head. This cable is 8 feet long.
The remote mount cable is used with the RMK-4000 to connect the RF deck to another RF DECK. This cable is 2 feet long for close installations.
The CT-88 cable is used with the FIF-8 box to make adjustments to the alignment of the VX-5500, or VX-6000 mobile radios. The CT-88 connects from the accessory port of the mobile to the FIF-8 box and interfaced to your PC.
The remote mount cable is used with the RMK-4000 to connect the RF deck to the control head. This cable is30 feet long for larger installations.

The FIF-12A is the programming software for Vertex Standard Radios. It includes a USB interface cable for PC programming. Allows the user to connect the radio to a PC or other device using a USB port. A separate radio cable is required to connect the radio for programming.
This interface board works with the FVP-25 and FVP-35 encryption board.
The LF-1 Plug-in Line Filter is specifically designed to be easily inserted in the DC power line . It can reduce or eliminates most types of noise which can enter a mobile radio through the DC power cord. For example noise from: alternator whine, windshield wiper, power window, light bar and fuel pump. For noisy environments, multiple filters can be connected in a series to increase effectiveness.
